Here’s a fun little tutorial on how to make cute, delicate rings using the 3Doodler. They are really comfortable to wear and much cheaper than store-bought findings. After my last 3Doodler video, many people commented about it being like a hot glue gun. Extruded plastic has very different properties to hot glue and can be used in different ways. This ring maker definitely won’t be possible with glue as it will drip everywhere before it can dry.

What I like about this method is that there is no other form of crafting that can duplicate the result. Polymer clay rings are generally very thick, wire rings can rust, scratch or get easily bent out of shape. The ABS plastic is seamless, flexible and delicate. It’s great for making midi rings, friendship rings, and using up any leftover beads, cabochons or rhinestones that you have laying around.
I made at least 50 rings using one single strand of plastic that costs 40cents. I did end up discarding some that didn’t turn out perfectly round but on the whole it’s much cheaper than using any store-bought ring base which usually cost at least $2 per single ring.
